Musician Bio

John Iannitto began playing the guitar in 1976, at the age of 12, after he first heard ﾓStairway To Heavenﾔ on the radio. John's immediate goal at that time was to get a guitar and learn the beautiful guitar work of Jimmy Pageﾒs masterpiece. And so John soon learned "Stairway" note-for-note by ear, and played it day and night until he could play it like Jimmy.

Soon, John began to transcribe other songs by ear and his parents soon enrolled John in guitar lessons. John's first instructor only taught him to read music and, for the first 2 years, he worked his way from the Mel Bay Books through the Berklee Books. Then John moved-onto another instructor who taught he all the "other stuff": riffs, songs, scales, arpeggios, and music theory. John continued to hone his skills and began teaching others at the age of 16...he's been loving and doing that ever since.

John has always found that he learned so much from teaching others. However, John has also explored songwriting, and won the 1987 Melodious Merit Award at The Hollywood Song Jubilee for a song he wrote and recorded called ﾓA Piece of My Loveﾔ.

John plays and teaches many different styles such as Rock, Metal, Classical, Jazz, Fingerstyle Jazz and Flamenco. His 2 favorite guitar players are Jimmy Page and Tuck Andress. John tries to play like Tuck, and that makes everything else seem easy.

John is currently playing lead guitar in a heavy based Led Zeppelin and Eagles Classic Rock Cover Band - ﾓMystic Toyzﾔ
