Musician Bio

Drew Fleming is a New York based guitarist, singer and composer whose musical tastes and pursuits can best be described as promiscuous.

With influences ranging in style from the Gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt, 80s hardcore punk and Brazilian choros, to honky tonk and western swing, Drew has developed a versatile technique that makes him sought after by many different subsets of the New York music scene.

Drew started playing the guitar at the age of 10 after witnessing Michael J. Foxメs fictitious performance at a 50s prom in the movie Back to the Future. Drew knew then that it was his destiny to melt the face of anyone who crossed his musical path. Since then, Drew has compiled a list of songs (originals and others) that rob relentlessly from all of his influences while mixing with his own style, dry sense of humor and ambiguous sense of right and wrong. In his songs and stories, you will hear tales of tainted desire in New York City and justice as it appears to predatory house pets.

Drew performs with AntiSocial Music, Kaiser Cartel, and The Benjamin Cartel, while fronting his own band and the western swing act Otis Pike Western Swing. Drew graduated from the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas TX, and currently holds a Masterメs degree in Musicology from City College of New York. His Masterメs thesis was a tonal, thematic and textural analysis of Beckメs 1996 album, Mutations.
