Musician Bio

Chris Norris was introduced to the world of music at age 9 when he began taking lessons on alto saxophone at his elementry school in East Islip, NY. Chris picked up guitar soon after, influenced by the sounds of bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath and Pantera. Chris built his chops by transcribing every song off the first six Black Sabbath albums, and the influence of Tony Iommi's style can be heard in nearly all of his recording to this day.

After high school, Chris became deeply interested in jazz and blues, and decided to attend Five Towns College to study with Tony Romano, Greg Bobulinski and Pete Rogine. Chris went on to earn his Bachellor's Degree in music performance, and was a recipient of the Tony Motolla Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement. Chris currently plays regularly throughout the tri-state area on guitar and saxophone; he leads a jazz quartet, and can also be heard playing with the metal band Dogs Of Karma.

Chris strives to be something of a "jack-of-all-trades" in his playing, equally comfortable playing Top 40 pop, straight-ahead jazz, heavy metal, blues and modern fusion.
