Musician Bio

Adam Lomeo is a jazz guitarist, songwriter and educator working in New York City. Although Adam has pursued a career in jazz music and holds an undergraduate degree in jazz performance, it was classic rock that inspired Adam to play the guitar. Adam says, モWhen I was around five years old I would watch the Woodstock concert footage over and over. I was so obsessed that my Mom sewed me a white-fringe jacket like the one Jimi Hendrix wore.ヤ

Throughout his childhood in Utica, NY, Adam continued to study the guitar. He soon formed a group with his younger brother Matthew on vocals and harmonica. By the time he entered high school, Adam had already performed at several major blues festivals and Woodstock '99.

In 2005, Adam was selected to be the guitarist in New Yorkメs モAll-Stateヤ jazz band. This positive experience led him to pursue a degree in jazz studies at William Paterson University. During his time at William Paterson, Adam was selected to travel with a small ensemble and perform a concert tour in China. He also studied extensively with Gene Bertoncini, a master nylon-string guitarist, and wrote an award winning paper on Stravinskyメs unique approach to the Twelve-Tone concept. In 2009, Adam graduated Summa Cum Laude and was presented with the Outstanding Musician Award.

After graduation Adam choose to begin a career as a freelance musician in New York City. He quickly found a job performing with one of his former teachers, Marcus McLaurine (bassist with Clark Terry & Kenny Burrell) and trumpeter/vocalist, Alicia Rau. Other performance highlights include Joeメs Pub and a live モon-airヤ session for WBGO (Jazz88).

Adam is also an in-demand educator, with a dedicated group of private guitar students and a position as a Teacher/Counselor at the William Paterson Summer Jazz Improvisation Workshop.
